Rumours
started floating as soon as the super-star host of
KBC 2 fell ill. Despite clarifications by the
director-producer of the show, Siddharth Basu, who
had laughed off the speculations of Mr. Bachchan
opting out of the popular game show, the latest
rumours doing the rounds were that the anchor of the
show, Mr. Bachchan is stepping down and his son
Abhishek is taking over the role of the host.
Today, in a press release by Star TV, the CEO of the
channel, Samir Nair, has refuted any such rumour and
has reiterated that the show will be hosted by none
other than Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.
The release further said that the channel will wait
for him to recover completely and will shoot fresh
episodes after that. Mr. Bachchan was to shoot for
the game show last week and the schedule was
postponed till further notice.
The channel had earlier decided to change the show
schedule from being a tri-weekly to a bi-weekly.
Effective Dec 2nd '05 KBC 2 will be telecast on
Fridays and Saturdays only. Apart from this there
will be two KBC 2 specials on Christmas Eve and New
Year’s Eve.
