Soha Ali Khan to make her English debut |
|
It's
a couple of firsts for Soha Ali Khan. Soha
has acted in one segment of a multi-storeyed film,
that too in English. “It's a short English film
called Postcards, directed by Rajshree
Ojha, who came down from LA to make the film,”
says Soha. “It has an interesting cast which
includes Victor Bannerjee and Roopa
Ganguly. The actor cast opposite me is Ankur
Khanna (of Ammu fame). Ankur has also acted in
Naseeruddin Shah's directorial debut.”
Postcards has three different stories, written by
Hindi litterateur Nirmal Varma. “Two of the stories
are set in Kolkata and Cochin respectively, while
mine is set in Mumbai,” she says. “It's about a
couple whose relationship is on the verge of ending.
It's an interesting and intelligent story. It was
fun to shoot for it, although the theme is rather
serious.”
“Come to think of it,” Soha adds. “Many of the films
that I have done have cast me as a serious, if not
traumatised woman. Only Rang De Basanti allowed me
to be myself, happy and young.” |
